AURORA, Colo., July 21 (UPI) -- Hundreds gathered Monday evening to mark the third anniversary of the deadly Colorado movie theater shooting that left 12 dead and dozens injured.
Twelve crosses were placed to line the street near the Aurora, Colo., movie theater where James Holmes opened fire during a midnight showing of The Dark Night Rises at the Century Aurora 16 Multiplex Theater. Holmes was found guilty July 16 of 24 counts of first-degree murder and 140 counts of attempted murder. A jury is now determining if the 27-year-old will get the death penalty or live in prison.
