By Amy R. Connolly

BURLINGTON, Vt., July 14 (UPI) -- A New York City police officer was arrested on drug charges after allegedly supplying oxycodone pills to men in Vermont who would sell them to area addicts.

Andre Clarke, 36, a 13-year veteran of the NYPD, was allegedly part of a drug ring that supplied the pills to the Burlington, Vermont area between 2011 and June 2014. Police said Clarke, known as "Dre" gave the pills to Michael Foreste, of Valley Stream, N.Y., who then gave the pills to Dannis Hackney of Burlington, who would sell them in Vermont.
