FORT MEADE, Md., March 31 (UPI) -- The two men dressed as women involved in Monday's NSA shooting were apparently partying at a motel before the incident.

One of the men was killed. Another man, identified as Kevin Fleming, 20, of Baltimore, Md., was injured. The men were in a stolen Ford Escape SUV when they "attempted an unauthorized entry at a National Security Agency gate," according to a statement from the NSA.

The men were at a nearby motel when they allegedly took the vehicle of a third person without permission.

NSA headquarters is part of Fort Meade, a U.S. Army installation with about 11,000 military personnel and about 29,000 civilian employees.

Gunfire was exchanged between a security guard and the two men as they tried to enter. The men tried to ram the gate with the vehicle.

Damaged vehicles were outside the gates, including a police SUV. A handgun and a small amount cocaine were found in the stolen Ford Escape the men were driving.
