Donald Trump questions Ted Cruz's eligibility for presidency

NEW YORK, March 23 (UPI) -- Donald Trump, a possible presidential candidate, isn't quite sure if Ted Cruz is allowed to be president.

"Well he's got, you know, a hurdle that nobody else seems to have at this moment," Trump said during an interview with MyFoxNY. "It's a hurdle, and somebody could certainly look at it very seriously. He was born in Canada, if you know, and when we all studied our history lessons... you're supposed to be born in this country, so I just don't know how the courts would rule on it. But it's an additional hurdle that he has that no one else seems to have."

Cruz was born in Canada to an American mother and a Cuban father. Experts are saying he can be president, since someone just has to be a "natural born citizen," and being a natural born citizen includes being born to an American parent.

Trump affirmed that he has set up an exploratory committee to consider a run for the presidency, and he said he had "bigger crowds than anybody" when he hosted an event in New Hampshire.

Trump also claimed he was using the "make America great again" phrase before Cruz used it.
