One-third of Americans say Hillary Clinton email controversy is a serious problem

WASHINGTON, March 16 (UPI) -- In a new poll, about one-third of those surveyed said Hillary Clinton's recent email controversy is a serious problem.

The CNN/ORC poll found one-third thought the fact Clinton used a private email to handle official matters was a "very serious" problem. About one-quarter said it was not serious at all.

The same poll found 53 percent of Americans have a "favorable opinion" of Clinton, and 52 percent said the way she handled email does not reflect "her character or her ability to serve as president."

It was found Bill Clinton has a higher approval rating than Hillary, because 65 percent said they viewed him in a favorable manner.

Hillary Clinton, a likely presidential candidate, responded to the email issue by saying it was simply a "matter of convenience."
