WASHINGTON, Jan. 26 (UPI) -- The Secret Service has launched an investigation after a "device," which appears to be a small drone, was found somewhere in the White House.
An on-duty Secret Service officer discovered the drone flying low to the ground at about 3 a.m. before it crashed on the White House's southeast side. It was identified as a "quadcopter," a drone with four propellers. Emergency vehicles arrived at the White House.
Press secretary Josh Earnest said the device did not appear threatening, but he did not give further details.
Earnest said the location and the type of device would be revealed as soon as possible.
