WASHINGTON, Jan. 7 (UPI) -- Shots were fired across the bow of the ships of two potential 2016 presidential candidates.
Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker took a swipe at his Republican colleague New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie for his now infamous awkward hug and football loyalties.
The biting Twitter banter began when Walker tweeted a picture of a Green Bay Packers fan with the caption, "This is the type of owner I'll be looking to hug after a #Packers win on Sunday."

The tweet is in reference to a viral and mocked moment when Christie was seen awkwardly hugging Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones after the team beat the Detroit Lions. The win ensured the Cowboys will be facing the Packers Sunday.
The Packers are the only NFL team owned through shares by the public -- a stark contrast to the billionaire Jones.
Christie didn't take the shot lying down. Not long after Walker's original tweet, Christie responded saying there were "enough awkward hugs for everyone" with an image of a hugging Christie superimposed on a photo of Walker giving his own awkward hug.

Both governors are potential presidential candidates for 2016 although neither has announced yet.
