LONDON, Dec. 24 (UPI) -- BBC global correspondent Quentin Sommerville appears to have accidentally gotten noticeably high on camera while recently reporting on the controlled destruction of narcotics in the Middle East.
"Burning behind me is eight-and-a-half tonnes of heroin, opium, hashish and and other narcotics," Sommervillle describes before breaking out in giggles.
Sommerville attempted to complete the report multiple times, as his producer -- also through laughter -- repeatedly urged the BBC host to press on saying, "we need just one more."
Skeptics who think the video may have just been edited out of context and simply shows two chums laughing on the job can look to Sommerville's Twitter account for verification, as it was Sommerville himself who first uploaded the video, commenting, "It's been a year of bullets & bloodshed. You've earned a [Christmas] laugh, at my expense."
Although it appears Sommerville since deleted that tweet, he told one of his followers to "be careful where you stand during an afghan drugs bust."
Always be careful where you stand during an afghan drugs bust :) @sheeraf
