CENTRAL , S.C., Dec. 13 (UPI) -- A soldier returning home after six months to see his newborn daughter and his wife for the holidays was reportedly kicked out of his wife's apartment. The landlord said he was not on the lease and overstayed the time allowed for visitors.

Sgt. William Bolt, who is stationed in Missouri, went to see his wife Lily, a Clemson University student, and their two-week-old daughter in Central, S.C. Bolt said the landlord told him he couldn't stay past seven days, as written in the apartment lease.

Bolt claims the landlord threatened to double his wife's rent if he stayed.

"He stated to me that he didn't care about our situation, he didn't care about me being in the military," Bolt told Fox Carolina.

The landlord told the news station he enforces the rule for all tenants.

Bolt said Saturday his family will leave earlier than planned to visit his wife's family in Virginia for the holiday.
