ST. LOUIS, Dec. 3 (UPI) -- A St. Louis bar has declared it will no longer support the St. Louis Rams after the players staged a "hands up, don't shoot" protest supporting Ferguson.

The bar took down all sports memorabilia and traded its happy hour for the Kansas City Chiefs games.

St. Louis police requested the protesting players be disciplined, but the team and the NFL refused to acquiesce, saying they were not in violation of any NFL rules and their rights are supported by the Constitution.

"We do believe it is possible to both support our players' First Amendment rights and support the efforts of local law enforcement as our community begins to heal," said Kevin Demoff, the Rams executive vice president and chief operations officer.
