FERGUSON, Mo., Nov. 25 (UPI) -- Newly released photographs of Darren Wilson are said to show the Ferguson police officer shortly after his August 9 confrontation with 18-year-old Michael Brown.

The St. Louis County Prosecutor's Office released the never-before-seen photographs on Monday night, after announcing the grand jury's controversial decision not to indict Wilson in Brown's death.

The photos, which were viewed by the grand jury as evidence, show Wilson in a hospital room. Close-up images reveal redness around his jawline and lip.

Hospital medical records indicate that Wilson was diagnosed with "facial contusion" (bruising).

CBS News was first to post the images:

According to court documents also released Monday, Wilson testified that he had "some redness to my left jaw line, then I had swollen right cheek and jaw."

"I had scratches on my back and neck, on my shoulders," he said.
