RIDGEFIELD, Conn., Nov. 11 (UPI) -- A 36-year-old Connecticut man turned himself into police on Tuesday on charges of negligent homicide for the hot-car death of his son this summer.

Ridgefield police obtained a warrant for the arrest of Kyle Seitz for the death of his 15-month-old son, Benjamin, in July.

The boy died of hyperthermia after he was allegedly left in a vehicle with temperatures up to 88 degrees while Seitz was at work at Owl Computing Technologies.

Seitz's wife, Lindsay Rogers-Seitz, said her husband realized Benjamin was still in the vehicle when he went to pick him up at day care after his work day.

Seitz rushed Benjamin to Danbury Hospital, where the boy was pronounced dead.

Seitz was released on his own recognizance Tuesday with a promise to appear Wednesday in Danbury Superior Court.
