ORLANDO, Fla., Nov. 6 (UPI) -- Police in Florida searched Thursday for a quadruple amputee after the bodies of his parents were found in their Orlando-area home.

Sean Petrozzino, 30, was identified as a "person of interest" in the deaths of Nancy Petrozzino, 64, and her husband, Michael, 63. Orange County deputies found the couple, both shot to death, after Nancy Petrozzino failed to show up for work Tuesday at Andover Elementary School, where she was a teacher.

Petrozzino is believed to have a gun, Jane Watrel, a spokeswoman for the sheriff's office, said at a Wednesday news conference.

"We do believe he has a firearm. He's considered dangerous, and they believe he is in the South Florida area," she said.

Michael Petrozzino's Toyota Camry was missing, police said. The sheriff's department also released footage from a surveillance camera that showed Petrozzino near an ATM in Orlando on Wednesday.

Cathleen Horne, Petrozzino's mother-in-law, said he had been living with his parents after separating from his wife.

Watrel stopped short of calling Petrozzino a suspect at a news conference Wednesday.

"We want him to get in here and talk to us so we can find out what happened, since he was apparently living with his parents," Watrel said.

Petrozzino lost both his hands and both lower legs when he contracted bacterial meningitis at age 16.

"I don't want anyone to feel sorry for me," he told the South Florida Sun Sentinel in an October 2000 interview. "As much as I feel bad about what happened, I feel good that my family and all my friends stood by me."
