ATLANTA, Nov. 5 (UPI) -- One lucky New York lottery player won the Mega Millions jackpot Tuesday night, worth $321 million.

The ticket was purchased at a Valero gas station store on Route 302 in Middletown, New York, lottery officials said.

'Whoever purchased this ticket is about to have their life changed forever," said Gardner Gurney, the New York Lottery's acting director. 'Whoever and wherever you are: sign the back of your ticket and keep it in a safe place, and when you're ready to claim, we look forward to meeting you."

The lucrative numbers were 9, 15, 34, 39 and 41, with a Mega Ball number of 1.

Tuesday's jackpot ranks as the eighth highest in Mega Millions history, and the highest with a single ticket winner. The most recent jackpot was won on Aug. 22.

The Middletown Valero will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the ticket.
