WORCESTER, Mass., Nov. 3 (UPI) -- A Massachusetts man who allegedly committed sexual assaults and robberies as far away as Oregon after cutting his ankle monitor was denied bail Monday.

Gregory Lewis, 26, appeared in court in Worcester, Mass., to answer the charges he faces in that state. That includes allegedly sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl in Southbridge during the summer and attacking and robbing his stepfather during a brief return to the state after he jumped bail.

Lewis entered not guilty pleas to all charges.

Investigators say that Lewis, who had been charged with raping the 13-year-old, fled in September, cutting his GPS monitoring anklet. He is suspected of sexually assaulting and robbing escorts in Colorado and Oregon and robbing one in Indianapolis.

Police said that Lewis threw his ankle monitor on the lawn of his alleged victim on his way out of town and had threatened to come back to Southbridge to kill the person who accused him of raping the teenager.

Lewis was arrested last week in Fort Edward, N.Y., about 50 miles north of Albany. State Police said he crashed his Jeep, driving into the Hudson River, and then pointed a gun at a man who tried to help him.

A spokeswoman for the Denver district attorney said Lewis is expected to face charges there, including attempted murder and sexual assault.
