Fire closes down Seven Dwarfs ride at Disney World

A small fire sparked by fireworks was extinguished quickly and caused no injuries at Disney World.

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla., Nov. 2 (UPI) -- Debris from fireworks sparked a fire Saturday at Disney World, shutting down the park's Seven Dwarfs Mine Train ride.

The falling debris ignited portions of the ride's decorative structures around 10:30 p.m..

A Disney spokeswoman said the small fire was quickly extinguished and no passengers or park guests were injured.

The staging area for the park's nightly pyrotechnics is located about 900 feet behind the Seven Dwarfs ride, which opened in May.
