TULSA, Okla., Sept. 15 (UPI) -- A veteran of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol has been arrested on accusations he assaulted two women during traffic stops.

Eric Roberts, a trooper for 16 years, was arrested Monday after the OHP determined it had enough evidence to move forward with criminal charges against him, spokesman Capt. George Brown said.

Roberts, 42, was taken to the Creek County jail. He has been on administrative leave, with pay, since a woman made accusations against him on July 24.

The first victim accused Roberts of forcing her to perform sexual acts in his patrol car, then drove to a secluded area and raped her.

A second victim claimed Roberts made inappropriate comments during a traffic stop on July 8, then order her to perform sexual acts.
