WHALES, England, Sept. 5 (UPI) -- On Friday, President Barack Obama said he may take executive action on immigration before the Congressional mid-term elections in November. However, he made no commitment on timing or specifics.

The president made those comments to reporters at the end of the NATO summit in Whales. He also said he has started getting recommendations from Attorney General Eric Holder and Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson.

Obama stated he would be making an announcement about specifics "soon." He is also considering action that will allow millions of undocumented workers to stay in the country.

For their part, Republicans have said that such actions as amnesty for "law breakers."

In June, the president said he would take action on immigration by the end of the summer.
