WASHINGTON, Aug. 21 (UPI) -- Former Republican Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin called out actress Tina Fey "capitalizing" on the former vice presidential candidate's image by making her look like "an idiot."
In the book Live from New York by Tom Shales and James Miller, Sarah Palin recounts the time when she was portrayed by Fey on Saturday Night Live. In one 2008 sketch, Fey acted alongside Amy Poehler who played former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. On the matter of foreign policy, Fey parodied the former vice presidential candidate with the line, "I can see Russia from my house!" A statement Palin never made.
The line went viral and became a media moment Palin could not dodge for years.
"You need to at least pay for my kids' braces or something from all the money that you made off of pretending that you're me! My goodness, you capitalized on that," said Palin on what she would tell Fey now. "Can't you contribute a little bit? Jeez!"

The former vice presidential candidate did not appreciate the mockery she endured from the late night comedy show.
"I know that they portrayed me as an idiot, and I hated that," she said in the book excerpt published on The Hollywood Reporter.
Palin also said she thinks SNL should not get hubristic about the effect the sketch had on the 2008 election and her political ambitions.
"I think SNL is egotistical if they believe that it was truly an effect on maybe the public debate about who should lead the country in the next four years," she said.
