NEW ORLEANS, Aug. 11 (UPI) -- Two teenagers were killed and two young boys critically injured in a drive-by shooting in New Orleans, police said.

Relatives said one of the dead in Sunday's shooting was a 16-year-old girl who was not involved in the violence. They said Jasmine Anderson would have begun the school year Monday at ReNew Cultural Arts Academy.

"She was a good student, and she was just an innocent bystander," Lillie Reese, Anderson's great aunt, told the New Orleans Times-Picayune. "She had just gone to get a bottle of water and was walking past that house. Now my niece's life is gone behind someone else's foolishness."

Police said the shooters opened fire from a car that drove slowly past a home on Burgundy Street in the 9th Ward, firing at the porch. A young man was also killed and five people wounded, including the boys, aged 4 and 2.

Relatives said one of the boys was hit by a bullet in the head.

The others wounded, all reported to be in stable condition, were a girl, 13, a woman, 37, and another woman.
