CULPEPER COUNTY, Va., Aug. 4 (UPI) -- Two adults and three children were found dead in their Virginia home Sunday night, apparently shot to death in what investigators are treating as a murder-suicide.

Police believe 35-year-old Clarence Washington, a local public schools custodian, shot and killed his wife Shauna and their three daughters before turning the gun on himself. A motive remains unclear. Their daughters have been identified as Omesha Washington, 13, Onya Washington, 6, and Olivia Washington, 4.

The victims were discovered Sunday night around 10 p.m. when a relative came to visit the family at their Culpeper, Va. home, about 70 miles southwest of Washington.

"Deputies arrived and found two adults, both age 35, and three juveniles dead. All five suffered gunshot wounds," the Culpeper County Sheriff's Department posted on Facebook. "Sheriff units remain on scene at this time, and are being assisted by the Virginia State Police collecting evidence."
