LEESBURG, Fla., July 31 (UPI) -- Police in Florida are hunting for two potential assailants they say shot and pistol whipped an unsuspecting man before robbing him Wednesday evening.
Just prior to 10:30 p.m., 22-year old Jeremy Harrison was sitting in a vehicle by a park in Leesburg with a female companion, when two masked men approached the car. According to Harrison, the men then forced him out of the car, struck him in the face with a pistol, shot him and took his wallet and shorts before fleeing.
Wounded, Harrison drove to a nearby residential area where someone called 911.
He was transported to Leesburg Regional Medical Center who transferred him to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he is being treated for a non-threatening gunshot wound to the right forearm and trauma to the head and face.
Leesburg police teamed up with local K-9 units to search the area, but were unable to find any potential suspects.
