NEW YORK, July 29 (UPI) -- A Staten Island woman has been reunited with her wedding dress nearly two years after she thought it was destroyed during Superstorm Sandy. After getting married, Nicole Pagliaro brought her wedding dress to Hector Pacheco's dry cleaners, which was destroyed shortly thereafter when Sandy reached New York.

"Like 95 percent of the stuff got damaged from the water, except that dress because we left that dress in the box," Pacheco explained to local reporters.
Pagliaro never checked with Pacheco, assuming the same flood waters that destroyed his store and records took her dress as well.
When Pacheco opened a new cleaners in February 2014, he placed the gown in the window in hopes its owner would one day notice and get it back.
Five months later it worked when, in early July, Pagliaro and her husband drove by the new location and noticed the dress.
Pagliaro's husband didn't believe her at first, but when she returned the next day she confirmed the dress was hers.
"Oh my God, it's you," Pacheco exclaimed when reunited with Pagliaro.
"He gives me a big hug and he's like, 'I'm so happy you're here finally!'"
