WICHITA, Kan., July 25 (UPI) -- A foster father in Kansas has been arrested after a 10-month-old girl in his care died after being left in a car for over two hours on a 90-degree day.
According to Witchita police, on Thursday evening 10-month-old Kadylak was left in a car unattended with the windows rolled up for over two hours before foster father Seth Michael Jackson realized where she was.
"The child had been picked up from the babysitter somewhere around four o'clock in the afternoon ... and somehow forgotten inside of the vehicle," Wichita police Lt. Todd Ojile told NBC News.
Jackson immediately called 911 because Kadylak was unconscious and not breathing and at 6:49 p.m. the baby was pronounced dead.

"Accidents do happen. We don't know if it was accident," Cindy Poe, Kadylak's said. "They have a lot of kids they take care of. I want answers."
Jackson, 29, and his 26-year-old partner care for four foster children and have legally adopted two children of their own.
"He was mentally breaking down. He was hysterical. There is no doubt in my mind he will suffer for the rest of his life in his mind," described neighbor Dottie TenEyck.
"They are two of the most kind-hearted guys that I have ever met. And I hate that there's so much controversy right now with babies being left in the car because I truly don't feel from the bottom of my heart they would ever do this on purpose."
Because Jackson and his partner serve as state-approved foster parents, the state has launched its own investigation in addition to that of Wichita police.
