AUSTIN, Texas, July 7 (UPI) -- Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) doubled down on his theory that President Barack Obama is coordinating the influx of undocumented immigrants crossing the U.S. border.
Perry recently leveled an accusation on Fox News against the Obama administration claiming it is helping coordinate the movement of immigrants across the border.
"The federal government is just absolutely failing. You either have an incredibly inept administration or they're in on this somehow," said Perry. "I don't want to be conspiratorial but how do you move that many people from central America across Mexico and into the United States without there being a fairly coordinated effort."
Perry reiterated his theory during anappearance on ABC's This Week, slamming the administration for not responding to a letter he wrote on the issue in May of 2012.
"I have to believe that when you do not respond in any way, that you are either inept, or you have some ulterior motive of which you are functioning from," he told Martha Raddatz.
Obama will be visiting Texas this week to attend Democratic fundraisers, but will not visit the border.
