Isla Vista shooting: Father of victim meets with father of perpetrator

The father of the man responsible for shooting and stabbing six people to death, then killing himself, met with the father of one of the victims.

ISLA VISTA, Calif., June 2 (UPI) -- The father of Elliot Rodger, the 22-year-old who killed six people and then himself in California, met with the father of the of the victims of the massacre.

Peter Rodger met with Richard Martinez, the father of Christopher Michaels-Martinez, who was shot to death in the I.V. Delimart in Isla Vista.

The details of the conversation weren't revealed, but Martinez confirmed the meeting.

"I have met with Peter Rodger and we plan to work together so other families such as ours will not suffer as ours have," Martinez told KEYT. "This was a private conversation between grieving fathers who've reached common ground.

The younger Rodger allegedly stabbed three people to death and killed three others by shooting them. He also injured 13 people.
