TROY, Ohio, May 7 (UPI) -- What started off as a viral video joked about on social media of a young woman getting hit in the head with a shovel could result in criminal charges, Ohio officials said.
The video features two girls having a typical teenage fight with some punching, sparing and smack talk.
Things unexpectedly turn a little dangerous when one of the girls grabs a shovel and whacks the other across the back of the head as she runs off.
The girl who was hit falls to the ground, clutching her head. Turns out she's fine after what appears to be a serious injury, but Miami County (Ohio) officials say a criminal investigation has been launched into the incident.
Miami County Sheriff Maj. Steve Lord told TMZ the girl who threw the shovel could be charged with assault or disorderly conduct.
