NEW YORK, April 25 (UPI) -- Jon Stewart ripped rancher Cliven Bundy for his racist remarks and the Republicans who rallied around him during his standoff with the government.

Cliven Bundy caused a tidal wave of anger when he made racist comments saying "negroes" were better off during slavery.

"Are they better off as slaves, picking cotton and having a family life and doing things, or are they better off under government subsidy?" said Bundy during a press conference, adding that he was like a "founding father."

Stewart sarcastically dubbed Bundy as a "professor of Negro Studies" and said that while bits of him may be like the founding fathers, they're the bits America is ashamed of.
