PLEASANT GROVE, Utah, April 14 (UPI) -- Police in Pleasant Grove, Utah, charged a 39-year-old woman with six counts of murder after the bodies of seven infants were found in cardboard boxes at a home she previously occupied.
Megan Huntsman was arrested after a family member, who currently lives at the Utah home, discovered the body of a baby that "appeared to be a full term" in a cardboard box in the garage.
"A family member was cleaning out the garage and came across a box that looked suspicious. Upon opening the box they found the infant inside," Capt. Michael Roberts, of the Pleasant Grove Police Department, said.
Investigators then found six more infant bodies, each in separate containers, at the home. Police wouldn't comment on why Huntsman faces only six counts of murder, not seven.
Police said they believe Huntsman gave birth to the babies between 1996 and 2006, and killed each of them. Her ex-husband, who found the first body, is believed to be the father of the babies.
Huntsman's three daughters still live at the home.
