YOSEMITE, Calif., April 8 (UPI) -- A popular hiking trail in Yosemite National Park has closed due to a heavy pileup of boulders and rock.
The National Park Service said Monday that 16,000 tons of rock debris broke off from a cliff.

The rockfall destroyed about 400 feet of the Rancheria Falls Trail east of Wapama Falls in the Hetch Hetchy area of the park, though no one was injured.
That part of the trail is closed until further notice.
