A woman in North Dakota was arrested after her 13-year-old son was found dead from starvation brought on by untreated juvenile appetite disorder.

Aidan Edward Bossingham was found dead after his mother, Jessica Lee Jensen, called police on January 12. Police arrived at the home to find Jensen calmly holding her son. The officer tried to resuscitate the child but found that he was already deceased with signs of rigor mortis.

After being taken to the hospital, a nurse found that he had been dead for some time and weighed a meager 21 pounds. Jensen said her son had medical problems including hormonal growth and pituitary gland issues, but police found that Bossingham hadn't been to a doctor since 2008. He also had a history of being severely underweight.

The autopsy found his stomach completely empty and his medical problems were treatable. Jensen was arrested on charges of child neglect and murder.
