Spring break chaperone dies after falling from balcony

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla., March 20 (UPI) -- A 62-year-old Texas man chaperoning his daughter on spring break died in a fall from a 12th floor balcony of a Panama City Beach, Fla., hotel, authorities said.

Thomas H. Saunders of Southlake, Texas, fell Wednesday at a Holiday Inn as his daughter and her four friends slept, WJXT-TV, Jacksonville, Fla., reported.

Foul play is not suspected in the case, Panama City Beach police said. Police are still working to determine how Saunders fell and the exact cause of death.
