Authorities investigating email about confession in Georgia teen death

VALDOSTA, Ga., March 20 (UPI) -- Authorities in Valdosta, Ga., are investigating an email they received that alleges an ex-classmate of deceased teen Kendrick Johnson confessed to his killing.

A Lowndes County assistant district attorney ordered a communications company to turn it all of its Internet records in an effort to find the person that sent the anonymous email, WALB-TV, Albany, Ga., reported.

In January 2013, Johnson's body was found rolled up gym mat in the Lowndes County High School gym. Authorities ruled Johnson's death an accident, but his parents have contended their son was murdered.

The email alleges that one of four people confessed to killing the teenager.
