WASHINGTON, March 19 (UPI) -- Allegations made by the CIA and the Senate Intelligence Committee against each other are under review, Attorney General Eric Holder said Wednesday.
Holder stopped short of calling the U.S. Justice Department's evaluation of the matter an investigation, saying, "We get referrals all the time. The fact that we get a referral does not necessarily mean we make a decision that we're going to investigate on the basis of that referral."
Senate Intelligence Committee Chairwoman Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., alleged in a Feb. 11 Senate speech the CIA improperly accessed computer files used by her staff. The CIA responded by asking the Justice Department to review potential illegal acts by staffers who allegedly removed documents from the files.
