LEONARDTOWN, Md., March 13 (UPI) -- Two teenage girls in Maryland have been arrested and charged for allegedly using a knife to force an autistic boy to perform sex acts, police said.

Police said Wednesday the girls admitted to assaulting the boy, 16, with a knife on "multiple occasions."

"His parents refer to him as [having] been diagnosed autistic," said Sgt. Cara Grumbles, a spokeswoman for the sheriff's office. "Some of the sexual acts involved animals. It's awful."

The girls also allegedly kicked the boy in the groin, dragged him by his hair, and forced him to walk on a frozen pond multiple times. The victim fell through the ice several times and was forced by the suspects to get out on his own, Grumbles said.

Both suspects are facing two counts of first-degree assault, two counts of second-degree assault, child pornography and false imprisonment charges.
