Suspect arrested in Texas in case of human head found in LA park

LOS ANGELES, March 10 (UPI) -- Police arrested a suspect in the dismemberment of a man whose body parts, including his head, were scattered in a Los Angeles park in 2012, police said.

Gabriel Campos Martinez, 38, described in a Los Angeles Police Department bulletin as "the suspect responsible" for the murder of Hervey Medellin, was arrested Sunday in San Antonio, the Los Angeles Times reported Monday.

Martinez was Medellin's roommate and partner, law enforcement sources said.

Medellin, 66, was reported missing about a week before his head was found by dog walkers along a trail below the "Hollywood" sign. A search with cadaver dogs turned up two hands; later two feet were found in a shallow grave.
