Batkid's segment was pulled from Oscar ceremony

LOS ANGELES, March 6 (UPI) -- Miles Scott, better known as crime-fighter Batkid, was to appear at the Oscar ceremonies in Los Angeles but his segment was canceled, his mother said.

Miles and his family were in Los Angeles to participate in a segment which was to be aired during the telecast of the Academy awards ceremonies, but the segment was one of several that never materialized, the Hollywood Reporter said Thursday.

"I don't know if they ran out of time, or if there was something about the segment they didn't like. It got pulled so quickly that we didn't have a lot of insight into what was going on," Miles' mother, Natalie Scott, told the International Business Times.
