DALLAS, March 5 (UPI) -- George P. Bush, the handsome son of former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, secured the Republican nomination for Texas land commissioner on Tuesday, handily defeating his opponent David Watts with 75 percent of the vote.

Bush's mother, Columba, was born in Mexico, and he speaks fluent Spanish.
The Texas land commissioner is responsible for overseeing state-owned land, assets and mineral rights. It's a powerful position in the state, and one that could help jump-start any gubernatorial or presidential aspirations.
