John Boehner on his last name: It's 'Boner' [VIDEO]

The speaker of the house made fun of his last name again.

WASHINGTON, Feb. 27 (UPI) -- The pronunciation of House Speaker John Boehner's last name -- it's "BAY-ner," for the record -- has been the subject of occasional speculation and mockery, even by Boehner himself.

The topic came up again during a Thursday press conference on Capitol Hill, when a reporter accidentally referred to the speaker as "Mr. Camp," apparently confusing him with Michigan Rep. Dave Camp.

"Mr. Camp, I mean, sorry, Mr. Speaker," the reporter began.

"Boner...boner," Boehner joked back.

Boehner and Anthony Weiner, the embattled former congressman from New York, have previously traded barbs about the giggle-factor of their last names.

"You know, my name looks like Beener, Bonner, Boner," Boehner acknowledged during a 2011 commencement speech at Ohio State. "Thank God it's not Weiner."

"Who is Boehner fooling? I mean, what am I, Anthony WAY-ner? I'm serious, brother. Just embrace it," Weiner said that same year.
