Woman accused of stalking Texas evangelist T.D. Jakes

FORT WORTH, Texas, Feb. 17 (UPI) -- A judge in Fort Worth, Texas, extended a temporary restraining order against a woman allegedly stalking television evangelist T.D. Jakes.

The state district judge extended the order against Karleisha Tarver Friday until a hearing Feb. 24 to determine whether a temporary injunction, ordering her to stay away from the pastor, should be issued, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported Monday.

Tarver, known as Karleisha Washington in Dallas County Jail records, was ordered not to come within 500 feet of Jakes, his family or employees.

Tarver has allegedly stalked Jakes, a television evangelist and pastor of the 30,000-member Potter's House church, over the past three years, the newspaper said.

Court documents describe incidents in which Tarver showed up at Jakes' Fort Worth home, and at the Potter's House churches in Fort Worth and Dallas, beginning in 2011. She was convicted of criminal trespass in 2012 and sentenced to 15 days in jail.

Jakes sued Tarver in Tarrant County civil court in January.
