SEATTLE, Feb. 16 (UPI) -- An anti-sex trafficking organization co-founder believed to be in Nepal faces additional child rape charges in Washington state, authorities in Seattle say.
Dhan Pun, 41, was charged in Washington's King County Tuesday with two counts of second-degree child rape and one count of third-degree child rape, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer reported.
The suspect was charged with two counts of third-degree child rape and third-degree child molestation last year in Snohomish County. He fled to Nepal in November after those charges were filed.
Pun is accused of regularly sexually assaulting a teenage relative when he lived in Seattle from 2010 to 2012. The girl was 13 to 15 years old at the time of the abuse.
He also allegedly befriended the victim in 2009 via a fake Facebook profile in which he posed as a teenage boy. Using the fake account, Pun began a romantic relationship with the girl, and encouraged her to have sex with the man she told him was raping her.
Pun co-founded the non-profit Women's Prevention and Protection Center Nepal Foundation, which is aimed at supporting women and girl sex trafficking victims in Nepal who have been rescued or returned from trafficking.
Court documents show Pun was to sign a joint plea agreement with Snohomish and King counties that would have included jail time, but he fled instead, the online newspaper said. As a result, King County filed separate charges against Pun.
If Pun returns to the United States, he will face charges in both Snohomish and King counties.
