Couple missing after house fire in Concord, Mass.

CONCORD, Mass., Feb. 14 (UPI) -- An elderly couple are missing after a house fire destroyed a home in Concord, Mass., early Friday, officials said.

The fire broke out at about 3:30 a.m. Friday and quickly engulfed the entire house, the Boston Globe reported.

"The building was fully involved," said Concord Fire Chief Mark R. Cotreau. "We attempted entry but could not get in."

The names of the two people missing have not yet been released.

"We have two people unaccounted for. We believe they were in the building," Cotreau said. "The fire conditions were untenable."

No other injuries were reported.

Authorities are investigating to determine the cause of the fire.
