HARRISBURG, Pa., Feb. 6 (UPI) -- The Pennsylvania attorney general is unsure when a review of the investigation of Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky will be released.

Kathleen Kane said Wednesday she will release the report, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported. She said it has been delayed by legal challenges to some of the documents included in the report, especially emails.

"Pennsylvanians deserve the full and true story, and I will not permit a rush to judgment to interfere with a thorough review," Kane said.

Sandusky is serving a lengthy prison sentence for molesting boys who became involved in a charity he ran.

There are also political considerations, given that Gov. Tom Corbett, a Republican who faces a difficult re-election fight in November, was attorney general when the investigation into Sandusky's conduct began. Kane, a Democrat, may wait until after the election to avoid looking like she is trying to undercut Corbett.

Three former Penn State officials are awaiting trial on charges connected to the Sandusky case, and Kane may wait until those cases are resolved.
