SAN DIEGO, Feb. 1 (UPI) -- A federal judge sentenced a Southern California man to six years in prison for raising money for the Somali terrorist group al-Shabaab.
Ahmed Nasir Taalil Mohamud, 38, of Anaheim, was the fourth Somali national sentenced in the conspiracy to solicit contributions for al-Shabaab in Orange and San Diego Counties.

The other three defendants were sentenced in San Diego in November to 10-18 years.
The Los Angeles Times said federal wiretaps picked up a phone conversation between one of the defendants in San Diego and an al-Shabaab figure who was later killed by a U.S. missile strike. The al-Shabaab leader said it was "time to finance the jihad."
