MEDFORD, Ore., Jan. 15 (UPI) -- An Oregon woman has been formally charged with killing her handyman and another person and hiding their dismembered bodies on her farm.
A grand jury in Jackson County in southwestern Oregon indicted Susan Monica, 65, Tuesday, the (Medford) Mail Tribune reported. She was charged with two counts of murder, two counts of abuse of a corpse and identity theft.
Sheriff's Detective Julie Denney said a search of Monica's 20-acre farm in the Rogue River Valley could last for days or weeks. Investigators cannot rule out the possibility of other victims, she said.
Robert Haney, 56, is believed to have been killed in September. Relatives said he answered an ad Monica placed online for a handyman, while detectives said he was living on the farm when he was last seen.
Investigators have released no information on the other victim except that he or she is believed to have been killed in August 2012.
The use of Haney's Oregon Trail card, a card allowing recipients to access state benefits, led investigators to Monica, authorities said.
