Bus collides with cab in Newark, N.J.; nine injured

NEWARK, N.J., Dec. 19 (UPI) -- A passenger bus collided with a yellow cab in Newark, N.J., early Thursday, leaving nine injured, officials said.

The No. 21 bus was heading to the Newark-Penn Station bus and train terminal at about 12:30 a.m. when it collided with the taxi, WABC-TV, New York, reported.

The bus then crashed into the front of a commercial building, causing extensive damage. The cab was also crumpled in the crash.

Drivers of the bus and taxi were injured, as well as seven bus passengers.

It was unclear how many people were on the bus at the time of the collision. The circumstances surrounding the crash have yet to be determined.
