Alabama father allegedly used son for torture porn

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., Dec. 19 (UPI) -- An Alabama man has been charged with using his son to make child pornography and making the boy a prisoner in their home.

A judge in Huntsville increased Carl Herold's bail to $1 million in cash Tuesday, AL.com reported. A day earlier, Charles Dunnavant, described as Herold's domestic partner, was ordered held in lieu of $1 million bail.

District Judge Alison Austin based her decision on flight risk and whether the men are "a threat to the community."

Prosecutors say Herold's 9-year-old son was kept out of school and never saw other people except when Herold was there. Herold and Dunnavant allegedly subjected the boy to sexual torture and filmed the proceedings.
