Obama's approval rating dropped most among Hispanics

PRINCETON, N.J., Dec. 6 (UPI) -- U.S. President Barack Obama's approval rating dropped most among Hispanics over the past 12 months, a Gallup poll indicates.

The president's overall approval rating averaged 41 percent in November, which is down 12 percentage points from December 2012, at 53 percent, the poll said.

His approval rating from Hispanics dropped 23 points over the same period. A majority of Hispanics -- 52 percent -- still approve of the president's job performance.

The Hispanic subgroup has shown the most variation of any other group's ratings throughout Obama's presidency, Gallup said, indicating their views are less firmly anchored and could increase again should the economy and national conditions improve in the future.

A random sample of 14,352 adults were polled between Nov. 1-30 for the survey, with a sample error of 1 percentage point.
