NEW YORK, Nov. 13 (UPI) -- The New York Police Department said it is investigating a series of attacks on Jews in Brooklyn, one of which was caught on a surveillance video. The video shows a group attacking and punching a Jewish man.
A 12-year-old, who was wearing traditional Jewish clothing, was also attacked last week, WCBS-TV, New York, reported.
"One, full strength with his fist, whacked him, punched him, on the side of the face, full force," the father of the boy said.
Police said there have been eight incidents since mid-September.
The NYPD'S Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating the attacks and hopes to identify the suspects in the pictures.
Brooklyn Assemblyman Dov Hikind told WCBS that the attackers are not taking money, and are only targeting the victims because they are Jews.
Rabbi Yaacov Behrman said he is concerned the attacks are a game organized by black teens.
"And they're playing a game: 'knockout.' 'knock out the Jew,' maybe. And they're going around the neighborhood punching Jews," Behrman said.
