DETROIT, Nov. 13 (UPI) -- A naturalized citizen from Jordan pleaded not guilty in Detroit Wednesday to charges she covered up her role in a deadly bombing in Israel.
Rasmieh Yousef Odeh, 66, of the suburban Chicago community of Evergreen Park was released on bond after entering her plea to allegations she failed to tell U.S. immigration authorities about her conviction in a 1969 attack on a Jerusalem market that left two people dead, WMAQ-TV, Chicago, reported.
Israeli authorities contend the attacks were plotted by the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, the TV station said.
Odeh, who became a naturalized citizen in 2004, appeared in federal court in Detroit because that is where she obtained her U.S. citizenship.
The associate director at the Arab American Action Network, a Chicago-area organization, could be sentenced to a maximum of 10 years in federal prison, stripped of her U.S. citizenship and deported if convicted.
She had no comment upon leaving the courthouse, WMAQ-TV said.
